One of my earliest memories is of my maternal grandmother bringing me some coloured
crayons and paper one rainy day in Aberdeen -
At primary school I was always encouraged to enter art competitions and won several prizes so it was a given that at High School I would continue to enjoy art under the expert tutelage of Mr Batchelor our fun, eccentric and flamboyant Barbadian Head of Art. Due to his exceptional teaching I succeeded in winning a much coveted place at Aberdeens Grays School of Art in 1976 where I studied Graphic Design and Printmaking until I graduated in 1979.
Since then I have worked as a Graphic Designer and along with raising a family found
I rarely had the time to sit and draw. When I came across the 28 Drawings Later Challenge
on Facebook -
given me the support, encouragement and inspiration I need to keep going! It has become such a real solid discipline that I find I now HAVE to draw every day.
